Argeles sur mer, at the foot of the Albères mountains on the Mediterranean coast , inspires relaxation and fun to the rhythm of maritime pleasures. If you are looking for the ideal place to enjoy the best view of this magnificent resort, Valmy’s municipal park will enchant you.
The Valmy municipal park, located at an altitude 3km south of Argeles, is an important natural heritage for this municipality. It was built at the end of the 19th century by Pierre Pardou, an industrialist with a passion for botany. This vast 5ha estate looks like the Argeles balcony and features a majestic castle surrounded by vineyards and a green park where you can stroll and picnic in the shade of pines and oaks. You will also find an area of children’s games and a food court. The view is breathtaking on this romantic hill that invites you to relax in the heart of nature through sculptures, paths, fountains and waterfalls.
Within this magnificent natural heritage, a botanical circuit has been created to evoke the relationship between man and nature. This tour conveys themes related to the cultural and traditional identity of the region. Throughout the tour, you will discover remarkable plants, alignment trees, fruity trees, perennials, annual flowers and many other surprises. The management of the park, which belongs to the descendants of the original owners, is attributed to the municipality of Argeles sur mer.
